Project Record

Network observability fieldbook

A project record for mapping routes, service boundaries, and operational evidence into a readable field guide.

This project studies how network behavior can be documented as a fieldbook rather than a dashboard. The emphasis is on recoverable intent: routes, boundaries, and service relationships that can be understood under pressure.

Method

The work begins with a small set of repeatable observations. Each route, host, and service gets enough context to explain why it exists and what would be affected by change.

Record

The fieldbook format favors durable notes over transient status. It asks the operator to preserve decisions, exceptions, and unresolved questions where future maintenance can actually find them.
